What is Clinerva?
Clinerva is a telemedicine platform that connects patients with verified, NMC-registered doctors for online consultations. Every doctor on the platform has been credentialled verified by Clinerva before being admitted to the network. After each consultation, Clinerva issues a digitally signed, QR-linked prescription that can be verified by any pharmacist or patient at clinerva.health/verify.
How do I book a consultation?
Clinerva's patient booking interface is launching soon. When live, you will be able to search for a specialist or general physician, view their available slots, and book a consultation directly through the platform. You will receive a confirmation and a link to join the session at the appointed time.
Are the doctors on Clinerva qualified?
Yes. Every physician on Clinerva holds a valid NMC (National Medical Commission) registration or State Medical Council registration recognised by the NMC. Clinerva verifies registration credentials before any doctor is permitted to practise on the platform. Patients can view a doctor's registration details on their profile.
Can I use a Clinerva prescription at any pharmacy?
Clinerva prescriptions are issued by registered medical practitioners and are legally valid prescriptions under Indian law. They can be presented at any licensed pharmacy. Clinerva partner pharmacies additionally have access to the instant verification portal, so they can confirm the prescription's authenticity before dispensing.
Is my health data safe with Clinerva?
Clinerva takes data protection seriously. Your personal and health data is processed in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. Consultations are conducted over encrypted connections, and your health records are stored securely with access limited to you and your treating physician. Please review our Privacy Policy for full details.
What happens if I need a follow-up consultation?
Follow-up consultations can be booked through the same platform. Your prior consultation notes and prescription history are accessible to your doctor during the follow-up, ensuring continuity of care without you needing to re-explain your history from scratch.
Who is eligible to join the Clinerva physician network?
Any registered medical practitioner holding a current NMC or recognised State Medical Council registration is eligible to apply. Clinerva currently supports MBBS practitioners and selected specialist categories. All applicants undergo a credential verification process prior to activation. See our For Doctors page for full eligibility details.
How does Clinerva handle prescription issuance?
Prescriptions are issued directly through the Clinerva consultation interface. Once a doctor submits a prescription, the platform applies a digital signature and generates a unique QR verification code. The resulting prescription document can be shared with the patient digitally or printed, and can be verified at any time at clinerva.health/verify.
Is telemedicine practice through Clinerva legally compliant?
Yes. Clinerva is designed around the NMC Telemedicine Practice Guidelines 2020, which govern the practice of telemedicine by registered medical practitioners in India. The platform structures consultation workflows to support compliance. Each doctor remains individually responsible for exercising their professional judgment in accordance with applicable clinical and regulatory standards.
How long does the onboarding process take?
Credential verification is typically completed within 5 working days of a complete application submission. You will be notified by email at each stage of the process. If additional documents are required, the Clinerva onboarding team will reach out directly.
Do I need a Clinerva account to verify a prescription?
No. The Clinerva verification portal at clinerva.health/verify is publicly accessible — no account or login is required. Simply scan the QR code on the prescription or enter the prescription ID manually to retrieve the verification details.
What information does the verification portal return?
The portal returns the prescribing physician's name and NMC registration number, their specialisation, the date and time the prescription was issued, and the full list of prescribed medications with dosage instructions. It also confirms that the prescription has not been altered since it was issued.
How do I register my pharmacy as a Clinerva partner?
Pharmacy partnership registration is available through the Contact page. A Clinerva representative will get in touch to guide you through the process. Partner pharmacies are listed in the Clinerva network and receive priority support for prescription-related queries.
What does it mean when a prescription is "digitally signed"?
A digital signature is a cryptographic mechanism that binds the content of a document to the identity of the signer. When a Clinerva doctor issues a prescription, the platform generates a signature using a cryptographic key associated with the doctor's verified identity. Any change to the prescription content after signing — even a single character — will invalidate the signature, making tampering immediately detectable via the verification portal.
What if the QR code is damaged or unreadable?
Every Clinerva prescription also displays a text-format prescription ID beneath the QR code. If the QR code cannot be scanned, the prescription ID can be entered manually at clinerva.health/verify to retrieve the same verification information.
Can a verified prescription be filled more than once?
Clinerva prescriptions indicate the prescribed quantity and any repeat-dispensing permissions as specified by the prescribing doctor. Pharmacists should follow standard practice when assessing whether a prescription has already been dispensed in full. The verification portal confirms the prescription's authenticity and details; dispensing decisions remain the pharmacist's professional responsibility.
Who owns and operates Clinerva?
Clinerva is owned and operated by Clinerva LLP, a company incorporated in India. Clinerva LLP is responsible for the Clinerva platform, the verification infrastructure, and all compliance obligations associated with the service.
What regulations does Clinerva comply with?
Clinerva operates in compliance with the NMC Telemedicine Practice Guidelines 2020, which govern telemedicine practice by registered medical practitioners in India, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, which governs the handling of personal data of Indian citizens. Clinerva reviews regulatory developments on an ongoing basis and updates its practices accordingly.
